Gold and the Rush
I think it's safe to assume that most of our readers (if, of course, we actually have any) currently reside on campus at our dear Tulane University. Luckily for you, so do Gold and the Rush. I saw these guys on Friday night at Cafe Prytania and they were fantastic. In my opinion they blew the headlining act (Young Jesus) out of the water. They basically sound like Johnny Cash got into a fight with a bunch of indie rockers. So... I guess that's Alternative Country with a side of general badassery.
