Smokey Robotic is definitely a group to keep an eye on as they are capitalizing on the focus on the "chiller" side of electronic music. Rather than a lot of the electronic that is meant to get the listener pumped up, not to say there's not a time for that, but this kind of music is appreciated when you're just simply looking to relax and listen to some electronic music with a side of rap. As they would say: "Animator, cartoonist and Superfuturistic dreamer, Rachael Freedman, is not from this planet. Neither is Smokey, which may be why the two get along so well. While the four members of the group were building a new spaceship in NYC, little Smokey and Ms. Freedman escaped to an oasis to bring the song, “S.R.” from their last LP, The Shark & The Helicopter, to life. The video includes over 4,000 drawings crafted by Ms. Freedman’s hand.
S.R. is a colorful ode to the power of love and imagination. In a time when violence and ignorance dominate the television, and factories produce 99 percent of art, S.R. shows us visions of a Superfuture where artists take back music, art, and the power to inspire.
Superfuturistic, “What’s the definition?” It’s when you push your dreams and make the best of living."
Definitely a message I could get on board with spreading.
